With the cost of health care premiums skyrocketing, it is difficult for small/medium businesses to contribute or even provide healthcare options for their employees.
SB20-215 Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise would lower premiums, hold insurers to higher standards, set fair hospital costs, and create competition in counties with only one insurer. The plan would set fair reimbursement rates for hospitals to lower costs while protecting rural, independent, and critical access hospitals. Insurance companies would have to spend more of the money collected from premiums on actual care and pass-through savings from prescription drug rebates.
